The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, visited the now-completed decarbonisation project at the Engenho Novo da Madeira industrial site in the Calheta Business Park.
With this investment in a fully restructured production facility, Engenho Novo da Madeira has taken a significant step towards modernising its operations, enhancing efficiency, safety and its commitment to environmental sustainability. This will contribute to greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, particularly through the incorporation of renewable energy into gross final energy consumption.
👉The project cost €1.5 million, funded under the PRR, 65% of which was a non-repayable grant.
