The growing value of sugarcane in the region has been attracting an increasing number of producers, a clear sign of the revitalisation of a sector with a strong tradition and economic importance.
This situation was confirmed by the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries during a visit to several sugarcane producers.
In the 2025 harvest, producers received €5.1 million, corresponding to a yield of around 8,400 tonnes.
