The Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicraft Institute, IP-RAM (IVBAM), together with four companies from the Madeira Agricultural Rum sector, were present at the Rhum Fest Paris Fair, which took place on 13 to 15 April 2019.
Rhum Fest Paris has already had 5 editions and is considered the largest Rum festival in Europe. The 2019 edition took place at the Parc Floral de Vincennes and brought together 50 exhibitors and around 5,000 visitors – “Rum lovers”, 2,500 professionals and 150 journalists and bloggers.
There were several seminars, masterclasses and tastings dedicated to Rum.
In addition to the producers attending the event, Engenho do Norte (J. Faria & Filhos), Engenho Novo da Madeira, Florentino Izildo Ferreira – O Reizinho and Sociedade dos Engenhos da Calheta, who made their products known, IVBAM, IP – RAM, on the day dedicated to professionals (15 April), held a Masterclass on Madeira Agricultural Rum, led by Peter Holland. In addition to being a writer, Peter Holland is a presenter, trainer and consultant for the Spirit Drinks industry and won the 2011 Golden Barrel Awards European Rum Blogger of the Year. He has been visiting Madeira for the past three years, and is already an expert on Madeira’s Agricultural Rum and its economic agents.
The participation in this fair is co-financed in 85% by community funds, under the Madeira 14-20 Program, the remaining amount being borne by the regional budget.
