The Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute (IVBAM), at the invitation of ANA – Aeroportos da Madeira and with the collaboration of wine and rum producing companies in Madeira, joined the celebrations of World Tourism Day, on the 27th September, through a promotional event located in the arrivals area of Madeira Airport, promoting tastings of these nectars that bear the name of Madeira, across borders.
On this date, which celebrates a sector so relevant to the regional economy – Tourism – IVBAM intends to enthusiastically welcome those who visit us, offering a taste of these regional products, of recognized quality and so representative of our culture and identity, key factors for boosting Tourism.
In these tastings, a range of Wines and Rums from various regional producers will be presented:
– Madeira Wine: H. M. Borges Sucrs., CAF – Madeira Vintners, Pereira D’Oliveira, Justino’s Madeira Wines, Madeira Wine Company, Henriques & Henriques and J. Faria & Filhos;
– Still Wines from Madeira: Casa do Caramanchão, Vinhos Barbeito, Elsa Ferreira, John Paul da Silva, Octávio Ferraz, Quinta do Barbusano, Justino’s Madeira Wines, Seiçal, Octávio Freitas and Duarte Caldeira & Filhos;
– Madeira Rum: Florentino Ferreira – “O Reizinho”, J. Faria & Filhos – “Engenhos do Norte”, Engenho Novo da Madeira – “William Hinton Rum” and Vinha Alta., also participate in this action.
For IVBAM, this type of promotional actions, located in strategic points, prove to be of great importance for the economic sectors involved, taking into account the weight of Tourism in their trade balance, which, in addition, find in this type of events, a window to enhance contacts with potential importers and other commercial agents.
