Engenho Novo da Madeira

Engenho Novo da Madeira, Lda.

Engenho Novo da Madeira is a young company geared towards the transformation of sugar cane into Agricultural Rum under the William Hinton brand name.
It was created in 2006 by one of the heirs of the Hinton family, holders of the largest sugar cane processing mill in Europe at the time – the Torreão Factory – from which it inherited the ancient column still, from which it still extracts the rum today. Under the leadership of this new generation of entrepreneurs, the historic legacy of the Hinton brand has been reborn and the production of Madeira Rum is now its main purpose.
Based on a policy of valuing the product and its roots, William Hinton Rum is today an essential reference, with products in more than twenty international markets. Experience, authenticity, innovation and transparency of communication are some of the values that govern the way the William Hinton brand operates. In 2018, it received the “Portuguese Product of the Year” award at the most prestigious spirits fair in Portugal, the Lisbon Bar Show.
